«Приравняем к террористам»: в Чечне ужесточают меры против нелегального майнинга

Work to identify illegal miners will be intensified

State Duma Deputy and Advisor to the Head of the Chechen Republic, Adam Delimkhanov, announced his intention to punish people engaged in illegal mining in the region in accordance with the law. During the ток-шоу "Особый разговор" on the "Grozny" TV channel, he noted that after inspections, cases of illegal activity were revealed, many of which are related to employees of various structures.

Our head, Ramzan Kadyrov, asks to bring to the attention of all residents that in the event of the detection of such cases, which also entail problems with electricity in the entire district, village, or city, those responsible for this will be severely punished. We will equate them to terrorists, as their actions harm the entire society.

According to the deputy, illegal mining leads to the theft of electricity, which is theft, since the use of such resources is not paid for. Delimkhanov also reported that work to identify such cases is already underway but will be intensified, as such activities are prohibited by the legislation of the Russian Federation.

He noted that mining is possible only if certain conditions are met, and otherwise, strict penalties are provided, including imprisonment. Special attention will be paid to the situation in the Shali district, where the problem of illegal mining remains relevant.

It is worth recalling that at the end of December, the Russian government approved a list of regions where mining will be prohibited from January 1, 2025, to March 15, 2031. These are Dagestan, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia, North Ossetia, Chechnya, as well as the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.

In addition, a temporary ban on mining will be introduced in some territories of the Irkutsk region, Buryatia, and the Trans-Baikal Territory during peak energy consumption periods.
