In 2024, the number of payments with a smile in Russian cities exceeded 25 million times. The number of monthly transactions increased 14-fold, to 6 million. This was reported by the press service of Sber.
More than 2 million Russians used the service. The top three most "smiling" cities included Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, and Krasnogorsk (by the volume of transactions per capita). Moscow and St. Petersburg became the leaders in terms of the total number of transactions.
Most often, Russians paid for purchases with a smile in supermarkets, restaurants, and pharmacies. In total, Sber installed 1 million bio-terminals in retail outlets.
