AvtoVAZ has announced a large-scale modernization of the plant in Togliatti and its subsidiaries. The project includes improving working conditions, carrying out equipment maintenance, and introducing new technologies. This was reported by the company's press service.
Production processes will be suspended from December 29, 2024, to January 12, 2025.
A significant part of the work planned for the New Year holidays is related to the upcoming launch of LADA Iskra: production preparation will be carried out in the welding, painting, and assembly shops. Modernization of engine production lines will also begin for the launch of a new 1.8-liter engine for the LADA NIVA family.
Improvements will also affect the metallurgical shop and chassis production. As part of the modernization program, AvtoVAZ will repair household premises, replace metal flooring with polymer flooring, upgrade lighting to LED lighting, and reconstruct glazing, as well as repair canteens.
In parallel with the work at the main plant, similar equipment repair and maintenance activities will be carried out at the "Lada Izhevsk" and "VIS-Avto" sites.
