In the next two years, Tatarstan expects to reach the production of 20 Tu-214 aircraft per year at the Kazan Aviation Plant. The head of the region, Rustam Minnikhanov, spoke about these plans.
According to him, to achieve this goal, it is necessary to equip the assembly and fabrication shops, as well as the machining shop.
In the near future, I am sure, within two years, we should reach the production of 20 aircraft per year. There is a huge modernization of the Kazan Aviation Plant underway, the most important thing now is the machining shop.
The Tu-214 aircraft (RA-64518) was produced at the Kazan Aviation Plant in 2009. In 2022, Ilyushin Finance Co. organized work to restore its airworthiness, and the aircraft received a new certificate in December.
Its maximum range is more than 7 thousand km, and at full load it is capable of carrying passengers up to 5.2 thousand km. The Tu-214 has a modern cabin for 194 passengers, equipment for rescue and navigation, and meets all current global requirements.
