Революционный ланцет: экспресс-диагностика ВИЧ и сифилиса в России теперь доступна каждому

Unique device from Tyumen scientists allows for quick health checks without medical skills

Scientists at the Tyumen Medical University have taken a step forward in diagnostics, patenting an innovative lancet device that allows for rapid testing for five serious diseases: HIV, syphilis, tuberculosis, and hepatitis C and B. According to the university's press service, anyone can use this device, even without medical education.

The single-use nature of the device ensures safety, eliminating the risk of infection transmission. After blood collection, the results will be displayed on test strips, making the process as simple and convenient as possible. In the future, the device is planned to be compact, no larger than a ballpoint pen, making it easy to carry around.

The development received support from a grant from the Foundation for Assistance to Innovations as part of the «Umnik» competition in the category «Medicine and Health-Saving Technologies». The project authors are confident that their device will help detect diseases at an early stage, which will significantly increase the chances of successful treatment.
