At the Baikonur Cosmodrome, the assembly of the "package" of the Soyuz-2.1b launch vehicle for the launch of the Resource-P No. 5 Earth remote sensing spacecraft has been completed, Roscosmos press service reported.
The new satellite will have a wide range of applications: it will be used to monitor environmental pollution, search for minerals and monitor emergency situations.
Resource-P No. 5 will also be used to adjust and update topographic and navigation maps.
Soyuz-2.1b with the satellite will be transported to the launch pad on December 23, the launch is scheduled for December 25 at 10:45 Moscow time.
