Russia to Create Measurement Complex for Electric Vehicle Charging Stations

Completion of work is scheduled for 2026

A complex for measuring the parameters of electricity in new generation networks and electric vehicle charging stations will be created in St. Petersburg. This will allow the development of a reference standard for the unit of direct current power and improve methods for transmitting electricity.

The D.I. Mendeleev VNIIM has begun creating a high-precision measuring complex for metrological support of measuring instruments for electrical energy values in new generation networks and electric transport charging stations.

In December, the institute completed a technical project that defined the characteristics of the complex being developed, taking into account its subsequent distribution to equip large regional centers for standardization and metrology. Work on creating the complex is expected to be completed in 2026.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that in November 2024, 1,023 new electric vehicles were sold in Russia, which is 40% less than in November 2023, and 24% lower than in October 2024. This figure was the lowest in the last 18 months (since July 2023), when 1,016 electric vehicles were sold.
