Telemedicine is becoming increasingly popular in Russia, offering a convenient way to obtain medical consultations. According to Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova, the number of telemedicine consultations has increased 11 times over the past five years, with 8 million such appointments conducted in 2023.
We see how in demand this tool is. Remote interaction, telemedicine - to help the doctor. I must say that COVID really became a trigger for the development of this system.
Telemedicine has been actively developing in the Moscow region since 2023, and the number of consultations has reached 1.2 million for adults and 181 thousand for children.
One of the main advantages of telemedicine is its accessibility. Patients can receive consultations without visiting polyclinics, which is especially important for residents of remote areas and people with disabilities. Remote consultations also reduce waiting times and reduce the number of unnecessary visits to hospitals.
The doctor can remotely monitor the course of treatment and, if necessary, adjust it, close a sick leave after influenza, ARVI or COVID, and extend an electronic prescription for a preferential drug.
The Ministry of Health of the Moscow Region noted that most requests come from patients with chronic diseases and those who need to renew prescriptions for medicines.
