Low-Noise Ergonomic Chukavin Sniper Rifle to be Supplied to Russian Troops

Andrey Chukavin: We have received a number of proposals, we will implement them next year

In 2025, an improved Chukavin sniper rifle (SVCh) will be supplied to the Russian troops. The developers will improve the low-noise firing device and make the rifle ergonomic, said designer Andrey Chukavin.

Currently, the designers are working to reduce the complexity of production.

It is worth mentioning that the first serial batch of SVCh was sent to the troops in 2023.

About SVCh

The Chukavin sniper rifle is suitable for the 7.62 mm by 54 mm caliber, while it is compatible with magazines from the Dragunov sniper rifle (SVD). The SVCh is 30% superior to the SVD in terms of shooting accuracy. At the same time, the Chukavin sample weighs only 4.8 kg, and its length in the unfolded form is 1170 mm.
