Russian engineers at the Ural Design Bureau have developed a modernized assembled striker for the anti-cumulative screen of the T-90M main battle tank. It will provide a noticeable increase in the anti-cumulative effect of standard lattice spaced armour.
Unlike classic strikers with a hexagonal cross-section, the new serrated strikers with a complex geometric arrangement with oriented wedge-shaped "teeth" will provide more effective destruction of the metal lining of the shaped charge warhead, disrupting the formation of the working body of the shaped charge jet.
As a result, at the moment of contact between the shaped charge jet and the main armor dimension, it will not only be partially defocused, but also unevenly formed, which will further reduce its penetration coefficient.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the Russian Aerospace Forces began using ultra-long-range bombs with UMPB.
