A new useful feature has appeared in the Yandex Maps service. Now users will be able to build routes inside buildings in Russian cities with a population of over one million.
You can plot a route between objects inside the building, as well as from anywhere in the city. For example, Maps will help you get to the shopping center by bus, tell you where the convenient entrance is, and show you the way to a specific store. As with regular navigation, Maps offers several route options.
To optimize movement inside buildings, service specialists updated floor plans in buildings that are most often used for routing. In particular, data on the location of escalators, elevators and other objects were clarified.
Now the service can be used in popular shopping centers, airports and train stations. Soon it will be possible to build routes in other buildings as well. The list of cities where this function will be available will also be expanded.
Earlier, Yandex Maps announced a major update. The service added new panoramic views for more than 400 settlements in Russia, 40 of which were previously available. Among the updated cities are six major megacities: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Krasnoyarsk and N.
