В Подмосковье открыли первую платную скоростную трассу

The road is 16 kilometers long

The Mytishchi expressway opened in the Moscow region on December 17, 2024. The new four-lane highway is 16 kilometers long. For the time being, it is free to use, as the tariffs have not yet been approved.

The highway project has been under discussion since 2011, and construction began in 2021. The Mytishchi expressway will be the first regional toll road in the Moscow region. The new highway is expected to reduce traffic by 20% on the northern section of the Moscow Ring Road and by 30% on the Yaroslavl, Dmitrovskoye, and Ostashkovskoye highways.

It is worth noting that Russia plans to increase fines for non-payment of travel on toll roads for cars and trucks. Earlier, Moscow Deputy Mayor Maxim Liksutov also suggested introducing toll travel on the Moscow High-Speed Diameter (MSD) for residents of the capital.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that Russian electric vehicles may have free travel on toll roads reinstated.
