The Russian Mi-35 military helicopter is equipped with an advanced L-370 "Vitebsk" onboard defense system. The system is represented by a distributed aperture of turret sensors for detecting attacking missiles in the ultraviolet range by UV radiation from solid-propellant rocket motor plumes.
Warning systems detect the irradiation of the vehicle by detection and guidance radars of enemy SAM systems, or by active radar homing heads of missiles such as IRIS-T SLM, AIM-120B/C/D, MICA-EM, MBDA Meteor, Aster-30, and so on.
To counter the above-mentioned means, the L-370 complex simulates an algorithm of jamming impact corresponding to the amplitude-frequency parameters of the enemy's radar equipment.
The "Vitebsk" also has a turret laser-beam module for optoelectronic counteraction to SAMs and air-to-air missiles with infrared seekers.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the Russian "Kornet-EM" on the chassis of the "Typhoon-K" armored vehicle and the updated BMP-3 have arrived in Vietnam.
