Novorossiysk Grain Terminal (NZT) has purchased a specialized vessel NMS-4, which can clean the water surface from grain dust (chaff) in an area of up to 34 sq. km near the terminal's berths in 2 hours. This was reported by the NZT press service.
The acquisition of a specialized floating craft is part of NZT's environmental policy and is aimed at protecting the Black Sea ecosystem.
NMS-4 works as follows: polluted water enters the onboard cavities, passes through filters and returns to the water area cleaned. Now NZT will be able to remove grain dust during the loading of bulk carriers.
Currently, NMS-4 is undergoing repair and modernization. The vessel will begin operating in early 2025.
