Cancer vaccine will be free for all Russians

The drug is scheduled to begin use in patients in 2025

Cancer patients in Russia will be able to receive a domestic cancer vaccine free of charge. This was announced by Andrei Kaprin, chief oncologist of the Ministry of Health of the country.

In general, all cancer drugs, especially at the beginning, when they enter the market, including immunopreparations, initially cost a lot of money, and we think that this will not be such a medicine for the elite. And when the technology is established, we should be able to reach about 300 thousand rubles, I mean for the state, for patients it should, of course, be free.

The Gamaleya Center, the Moscow Research Institute of Oncology named after P. A. Herzen and the N. N. Blokhin National Medical Research Center of Oncology took part in the development of the mRNA vaccine. The vaccine drug is expected to begin to be used by patients in early 2025.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the Russian cancer vaccine successfully passed preclinical trials.
