Мошенники придумали хитрую схему обмана россиян через Telegram с помощью лайков

The perpetrators pose as employees of Yandex

Scammers on Telegram are offering Russians to earn money by leaving likes on products in the online store of a major brand. The perpetrators tried to deceive a RIA Novosti correspondent.

Posing as a representative of "Yandex", the scammer contacted the journalist and offered him to earn money by putting five likes on products on the platform.

The fraudster claimed that you can earn up to 8,200 rubles in one day. He offered to complete the task every day for ten days.

During the conversation, the scammer asked for the user's age and said that a manager would contact the "client" for further actions. The money would allegedly be transferred after completing the task.

Tatyana Machneva, a content analyst at Kaspersky Lab, told RIA Novosti about a scheme that is used to obtain money from users. According to the expert, at the first stage, the victim is offered to complete a task — to like goods in an online store. After that, a small amount is credited to the user's card as a reward for the work done, and he is offered to continue cooperation.

If the victim agrees, the next day she is offered to perform a number of tasks. Some of them are similar to the previous ones, and some are new. In particular, the "client" needs to purchase goods in the online store by sending money to the card. After that, the user must send a screenshot of the transfer, and he is promised to return the amount spent with interest. However, in reality, the victim transfers money to scammers.

In order not to become a victim of scammers, the specialist advises to be careful about any tempting offers of easy money. You should not follow links from suspicious messages, and it is also important to monitor where you transfer money.

Earlier, Russian Telegram users encountered a new scheme used by scammers to gain access to their accounts. Both ordinary citizens and well-known Russian journalists, including representatives of the editorial office of the popular information Telegram channel BAZA, were affected. Victims are deceived by promising a free subscription to Telegram Premium.
