3D Modeling Comes to Plastic Surgery in Russia

Doctors are using it with AI

Doctors in aesthetic medicine have begun using 3D modeling and artificial intelligence to improve the accuracy of surgeries. This was announced by plastic surgeon Akhmed Rakhimov at the XIII National Congress "Plastic Surgery, Aesthetic Medicine and Cosmetology" in Moscow.

One of the main achievements of using 3D modeling is the visualization of procedure results. Patients will be able to see their altered appearance after the operation, and most importantly, before it.

Doctors also use medical calculators. They are needed to calculate the dosage of drugs. In addition, they can be used to plan the duration of the operation.

Predicting and controlling blood loss during surgery is also becoming important for doctors. Thanks to special technologies, operations become less traumatic.

Despite the achievements, Rakhimov emphasized that technology will not replace an experienced surgeon. It is just a tool.
