Russian military personnel have equipped the "Strela-10" surface-to-air missile system (SAM) with a mobile structure that protects the vehicle from kamikaze drones. This refers to a double-leaf anti-drone canopy that covers the upper hemisphere of the "Strela" in the stowed position.
In combat position, the lattice "mancatcher" is folded back so that it does not restrict the mobility of the launcher with four anti-aircraft missiles.
Previously, electronic warfare systems were enough to combat drones, but now all means are used to protect against drones, including the use of small arms and camouflage.
The basic version of the "Strela" entered service back in 1976. The vehicle on the chassis of the MT-LB tracked transporter carries four missiles on a launcher. Initially, the complex was developed to combat helicopters and low-flying aircraft, but in modern conditions, "Strela" are used to combat drones.
Earlier,www1.ru reported thatthe shipborne MLRS A-22 "Ogon" was combined with the "Motolyga" at the forefront.
