Russian military forces have deployed the Tula-made 140-mm reactive flame-incendiary MLRS A-22 "Ogon" based on the MT-LB "Motolyga".
Despite the short range of 800 to 4500 m, the 140-mm OF-45 rockets with 5.65-kg high-explosive fragmentation warheads and incendiary rockets-45 with 4.8-kg incendiary warheads can be launched from the rails in salvo mode with an interval of 0.2 s.
This provides dense and rapid coverage of enemy strongholds in the suppressed sector.
Initially, the shipborne placement of the 22-round MS-227 launchers of the "Ogon" complex was envisaged. But now a ground-based highly mobile modification has been developed on the chassis of the MT-LB tracked transporter, which demonstrates its fire performance in the video above. The system is developed and manufactured by the Tula-based NPO "Splav."
