Переманить поклонников Chery не удалось: продажи кроссоверов XCite провалились

"Avtozavod St. Petersburg" plans to produce 20 thousand cars by the end of 2024

The former Nissan plant in St. Petersburg, now known as "Avtozavod St. Petersburg", plans to produce 20 thousand XCite brand cars by the end of this year. This was announced by the company's director Ivan Mironov.

The head of the company noted that the production of this number of cars is planned taking into account the cars that were assembled at the end of the previous year. He also recalled that the production of XCite crossovers started in November 2023.

In 2025, according to Mironov, specific plans have not yet been determined, which will depend on the sales dynamics, which are currently declining. To date, only 5 thousand XCite cars have been sold in Russia.

Earlier, auto expert Sergei Tsyganov reported that Chery had reduced the production plan for cars under the XCite brand at the "Avtozavod St. Petersburg" from 25 thousand to 7 thousand. According to him, Chery is gradually losing interest in assembling cars under this brand. This applies not only to the X-Cross 7 model, but also to the latest X-Cross 8. According to preliminary data, it is planned to sell about 700 cars in 2025, which, according to the expert, is an unprofitable volume.
