Russian engineers are developing a torpedo with a nuclear warhead called Poseidon. Presumably, these newest munitions will equip domestic submarines of Project 09851.
The official characteristics of the torpedo are currently unknown. Presumably, it is 20 m long, 1.8 m in diameter, and weighs about 100 tons, completely invulnerable to modern means of protection.
After launch, Poseidon acts as an unmanned device that can be remotely directed to the target at a speed of up to 190 km/h.
It is also likely that the new torpedo will have various nuclear charges, the maximum power of which will be a monoblock thermonuclear warhead, similar to the Avangard charge, up to two megatons in TNT equivalent.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the newest drones with thermobaric shells have appeared on the front line.
