Aeroflot intends to purchase five Boeing 737-800BCF cargo aircraft from the Volga-Dnepr Group. The deal is estimated at eight to nine billion rubles. The aircraft will be used as donors for the needs of the Pobeda subsidiary.
Aeroflot is actively interested in acquiring engines, landing gear, avionics and other components for aircraft. According to reports, the airline plans to use the purchased aircraft to expand its fleet, which mainly consists of Boeing 737-800s.
However, given the current sanctions, converting the Atran aircraft into passenger liners may prove too difficult and costly.
The Atran airline fleet includes nine aircraft. Six of them are Boeing 737-800BCF, and three are Boeing 737-400SF. All aircraft have dual registration and have not flown since March 2022. Currently, the company uses only one aircraft - An-12BP. In 2023, Atran recorded a net loss of 1.8 billion rubles, and in 2022 - 685 million rubles.
It became known that Aeroflot will be the first Russian air carrier to use the "wet" leasing service. According to the company, the possibility of renting three wide-body Airbus A330 aircraft together with the crew appeared after an agreement was concluded with the Russian airline iFly.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the Ministry of Industry and Trade decided to reduce the number of aircraft engines for promising MS-21, SSJ-100 and Tu-214 aircraft that will be produced in Russia until 2026. As a result, aircraft manufacturers will receive not 192 engines, as planned, but only 128.
