The armament of the modernized BMP-2M is based on the B05YA01 "Berezhok" gun-machine gun and rocket-grenade launcher module. The advantages of the updated device were highlighted in "High-Precision Systems."
The main armament of the "Berezhok" is a 30 mm 2A42 automatic cannon with a боекомплект of 500 rounds, as well as a 7.62 mm coaxial machine gun with a боезапас of 2000 rounds.
The combat module carries Kornet anti-tank missiles, a PKT machine gun, an AG-17 automatic grenade launcher, and a 30-millimeter 2A42 automatic cannon. The fire control system includes a combined gunner's sight with a thermal imager and rangefinder, as well as a ballistic computer.
According to the developers, the modernized BMP-2M is twice as effective in combat as the American Bradley, and four times as effective as the basic version of the BMP-2.
