Первый пуск «Союза-5» планируют осуществить в декабре 2025 года

Kazakhstan is modernizing the launch complex for the launch

The first launch of the new medium-class rocket "Soyuz-5" is scheduled for December 2025, as indicated in the protocol of the Russian-Kazakh intergovernmental commission on the Baikonur Cosmodrome.

The launch will be carried out from the modernized "Baiterek" site at Baikonur, where Zenit rockets were previously launched. The creation of the "Soyuz-5" rocket and the modernization of the launch complex are part of a joint project between Russia and Kazakhstan, within the framework of which Kazakhstan has allocated 60 billion tenge for 2025 to finance the work.

The "Soyuz-5" rocket is a new medium-class unit capable of delivering up to 17 tons of payload into low Earth orbit. It is being developed in Russia, and Kazakhstan is modernizing the launch complex for launches. Currently, work is ongoing on the development of documentation and the manufacture of technological equipment. Despite minor delays in the creation of some rocket components, it is assumed that they will be eliminated with the help of organizational and technical solutions.

The "Soyuz-5" project and the modernization of "Baiterek" are an important part of expanding the joint efforts of Russia and Kazakhstan in the field of space exploration.
