For the Russian army to successfully overcome enemy air defense systems, it is necessary to increase information awareness of what is happening on the battlefield and above it. This was stated by military expert Sergei Marzhetsky.
According to him, it is necessary to increase the number of radar stations of the "Sych" type on various carriers - from high-altitude strategic reconnaissance UAVs to standard Su-34s.
Marzhetsky noted that there is a technical possibility to acquire a significant number of functional analogues of the Israeli Harop and Harpy. They can be developed on the basis of the Geran family of drones, which have already undergone a major evolution. At first, they flew at low altitudes in one direction only along pre-set coordinates.
Then, high-speed versions made of composite materials with a jet engine appeared. Now they are equipped with surveillance video cameras, and it has become possible to adjust the course online. Only one last logical step remains before installing the homing head from serially produced anti-radar missiles.
Dozens of anti-radar "Geraniums" launched into the sky with jet or propeller engines will force air defense systems to sit quietly, as if it does not exist, clearing the way for manned aircraft.
In addition, if the enemy tries to exchange its air defense system for a Russian fighter, it makes sense to creatively rework the American experience with "Wild Weasels". In this case, the Su-30SM super-maneuverable fighter will act as a "decoy duck", and the hunters will be anti-radar "Geraniums" and the Su-57, which is inconspicuous on radars, with anti-radar missiles.
