From January 1, 2025, fines for violating a number of traffic rules (SDA) may increase in Russia. In particular, it is proposed to increase the fine for violating the rules for using seat belts from 1,000 to 1,500 rubles.
Also, the fine for driving a vehicle while intoxicated or transferring the right to drive will increase from 30,000 to 45,000 rubles.
The range of fines for speeding will change, instead of the current 500–5000 rubles, it will be 750–7500 rubles. The range of fines for non-compliance with the requirements of road signs or markings will increase from 500–5000 rubles to 750–7500 rubles.
The fine for causing minor harm to health in violation of traffic rules will increase from 2500–5000 to 3700–7500 rubles, and for causing medium harm from 10,000–20,000 to 15,000–30,000 rubles.
In addition, the amendments concern the possibility of paying the fine "at a discount". Currently, the rules are in effect that within 20 days the car owner can pay only 50% of the fine. After the changes are adopted, the period of preferential payment will increase to 30 days, but he will have to pay 75% of the fine.
