Rosatom State Corporation announced the start of work in France on the ITER reactor to install gyrotrons — systems for additional plasma heating and electric current generation. The equipment for the thermonuclear megaproject was sent to the ITER site back in August, but engineers from NPP Gycom arrived from Nizhny Novgorod only recently.
We are recognized worldwide as leaders in the production of gyrotrons, which is why the installation of the equipment is entrusted to our professionals who thoroughly master this technology.
It is known that 24 gyrotrons should be installed at this stage of ITER construction. Two of them will be provided by India, six — by the countries of the European Union, and eight gyrotrons each — by Russia and Japan. So far, only Russian and Japanese parts for the construction of gyrotrons have arrived in France.
The "First Technical" previously described in detail the ITER project and how it is useful for Russia. You can read about it here.
