The Ministry of Internal Affairs is being asked to support amendments to Federal Law No. 580 to ensure the safety of taxi passengers. It is proposed to equip all taxi applications in the country with a panic button that can be pressed during incidents during the trip.
According to IA "TASS", which has the text of the appeal at its disposal, it is assumed that "equipping applications with an "SOS button" on the main page of the application will increase passenger loyalty to taxi aggregators". If something goes wrong, the passenger, by pressing the button, will turn on automatic recording of the driver's and passenger's conversation, which will be sent to the dispatcher and stored on the server.
Upon receipt of a signal, the aggregator's representative must contact the passenger or driver to clarify the details, help resolve the conflict and, if necessary, promptly transfer information to law enforcement agencies.
Also, this should automatically activate the recording of taxi movement tracking, which will be sent to relatives or close friends of the passenger.
Earlier, the State Duma proposed to cancel the yellow color of taxis for self-employed drivers, while leaving checkers on the body and a light on the roof.
