The airline "Pobeda" is prohibited from automatically including in the contract for paid services the passenger's consent to the provision of additional paid services. The court decision came into force in August. We explain what happened.
The Astrakhan Rospotrebnadzor filed a lawsuit against the airline in March last year. It demanded that the air carrier be prohibited from imposing an insurance contract when buying a ticket online.
That is, when buying a ticket via the Internet on the "Pobeda" website or in the application, checkmarks were automatically placed, as if the person wanted to get insurance.
The Shcherbinsky District Court of Moscow rejected Rospotrebnadzor's claim. Then the officials filed an appeal with the Moscow City Court, where it was satisfied. The decision of 22.08.2024 came into legal force.
