Crews of the "Bastion" coastal defense missile systems (CDM, NATO codification "Stooge") practiced tactics for launching missile strikes against potential enemy ships in the Baltic Sea during exercises, the Baltic Fleet press service reported.
As part of continuous combat duty, crews of the "Bastion" CDM of the Baltic Fleet successfully conducted training on the Baltic Sea coast in the Kaliningrad Region.
The CDM crews marched to the deployment site, took up positions, received data about the enemy, and performed electronic missile launches at targets. The launches were carried out using modern technologies, which made it possible to assess the effectiveness of the complex's missiles in conditions close to combat.
About the "Bastion" CDM
The "Bastion" CDM protects a coastline of more than 600 km. From the moment the order is received on the march to the full deployment of the complex, it does not exceed 5 minutes. The CDM itself can be located 200 km from the coastline. It is equipped with the P-800 "Onyx"/"Yakhont" anti-ship missile.
