Registration is available for individuals, legal entities and individual entrepreneurs, citizens of Russia and foreigners with a confirmed account. According to the Ministry of Digital Development, their owners willingly participate in the deanonymization of channels, pages and blogs with more than 10 thousand subscribers.
More than 13 thousand applications have been submitted in 4 days of operation of the registration form on "Gosuslugi". Most often, information is sent on channels/pages on three resources: VKontakte — 39%, Telegram — 21% and YouTube — 17%.
After voluntary identification, channels or pages are included by Roskomnadzor in a special list. This already includes accounts of journalists, departments, State Duma deputies, media and cultural figures.
Registration is voluntary, but without it, advertisers will not be able to place advertising on such resources from January 1, 2025, and other channels and pages will not be able to repost their messages. The channel or page itself will not be able to collect donations for its activities. In addition, if a channel or blog does not pass registration, then Roskomnadzor will have the right to contact the social network with a request to restrict access to it.
According to the Ministry of Digital Development, verification of channels/pages with more than 10 thousand subscribers will allow:
- protect yourself from channels/pages – twins and fakes;
- increase trust from the audience, as users will have the opportunity to see if they are dealing with a verified source of information;
- get more opportunities to conclude contracts with advertisers, as the latter will be able to work only with verified channels/pages with more than 10 thousand subscribers.
Information from the list about the owner of the channel, blog or page will be stored in encrypted form without publication. When you follow the unique link indicated in the page description, other users will have access to information about the inclusion of these channels/pages in the corresponding list. Any other information about the owner or administrators of the channel/page will not be publicly available.
As for social networks that are now banned in Russia, they are not in the state register due to the ban. And, if Russians run their channels and pages with more than 10 thousand subscribers only there, then their registration through "Gosuslugi" does not apply.
