Novosibirsk State Technical University is preparing for flight tests of the "Sarma" drone. This aircraft was created to perform various tasks, including agricultural work and cargo transportation.
"Sarma" is equipped with a hybrid aircraft engine, which was created at Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University.
Now, together with SibNIA named after Chaplygin, we are preparing for flight tests, undergoing the certification procedure.
The drone was first presented in May of this year. Its weight is 155 kilograms, and the wingspan is 12.2 meters, the length is 5.2 meters. "Sarma" can fly 1.2 thousand kilometers without refueling. The cruising speed of the aircraft is 100 kilometers per hour. It is capable of lifting up to 100–120 kilograms of cargo into the air.
This drone is equipped with an internal combustion engine that runs on gasoline, and an electric motor. They provide easy lift-off and altitude gain. During the main flight, only the internal combustion engine operates. A powerful generator is responsible for the independent power supply of all systems.
Earlier in Russia, a drone was presented that is capable of delivering cargo up to 200 kg to remote regions of Russia and hard-to-reach settlements. It is ideal for such transportation due to its ability to take off and land vertically, because there are no airfields in some regions.
Russian specialists have also developed a unique anti-drone gun equipped with a built-in drone detector. With its help, you can get detailed information about the direction from which the drone is approaching.
