Роскосмос готов защищать патенты: подписано соглашение с Евразийской патентной организацией

Eight countries are under its jurisdiction

Roscosmos is interested in ensuring the legal protection of inventions and industrial designs of rocket and space technology in the Eurasian space. This was stated by the Director General of the State Corporation, Yuri Borisov, at a meeting with the President of the Eurasian Patent Office of the Eurasian Patent Organization, Grigory Ivliev, where they signed a cooperation agreement.

It seems appropriate to undertake joint efforts aimed at developing the institution of intellectual property of the Eurasian patent system, creating conditions for the further innovative development of the rocket and space industry of the Russian Federation, including by ensuring the legal protection of inventions and industrial designs, as well as promoting the creation of favorable conditions for the development of inventive, patent-licensing and innovative activities in the rocket and space industry.
Yuri Borisov, head of Roscosmos State Corporation

According to Borisov, his structure has already ensured legal protection for more than 11 thousand results of intellectual activity worth more than 230 billion rubles. He noted that intellectual property should be involved in economic circulation both in domestic and foreign markets.

The Eurasian patent system enables individuals and legal entities to obtain protection of rights to inventions on the basis of a single Eurasian patent valid in the territory of all contracting states of the EAPC. These states include Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.
