Russian military forces have begun using modernized Geranium-2 kamikaze drones with a thermobaric, rather than a high-explosive fragmentation, warhead. In this way, they are achieving increased damage when striking.
Unlike ordinary Geraniums, which destroy targets with fragments scattering upon explosion, the drone with the new warhead primarily causes fires.
It is assumed that the updated Geranium carries a warhead similar to that used in the Solntsepyok heavy flamethrower systems. This is a vacuum volume-detonating munition with great destructive power.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Russia produces about 45 thousand sets of Hermes jam-resistant communication systems for FPV drones annually. They increase the operating range of the devices up to 100 km.
