The corporation's press service added that the builders will need almost 2,000 tons of steel reinforcement and more than 5,000 cubic meters of concrete to create the foundation. According to Evgeny Milushkin, Head of the Capital Construction Department of the Leningrad NPP, the foundation slab will evenly distribute the load on the ground from the 70-meter reactor building and the equipment operating inside. This includes steam generators and circulation pumps.

Simultaneously with the reinforcement, we will install sensors to monitor the integrity and tightness of the reactor building shell, and continue to install a closed controlled grounding circuit.
