Россиянам предложили сменить e-mail, привязанный к «Госуслугам»

Пользователям «Госуслуг» стали приходить письма с предложением сменить почтовый ящик

Users of the Unified Portal of State Services ("Gosuslugi") who have a foreign e-mail address (gmail) linked to their account have started receiving notifications suggesting they change their e-mail.

The message reminded Russians that the company owning this mail service, Google, has restricted the use of SMS verification for creating new accounts. Given this, the "Gosuslugi" administration cannot guarantee the correct operation of the function even for existing accounts.

In Russia, amendments to the law "On Information" came into force in December 2023, which limited the possibility of Russians registering and logging in to domestic portals through foreign services. This concerns gmail and Apple ID.
