Yandex's kicksharing service has begun testing a technology that will help reduce the number of violations on personal mobility devices (PMD). This is reported by Forbes.
If more than one person gets on the scooter, the device will slow down to pedestrian speed (5 km/h). As soon as the second passenger gets off and the load on the scooter returns to normal, the speed will return to normal.
Testing is currently underway at test sites, and an accuracy of over 95% has been achieved. Implementation is planned for the next season, in the spring of 2025.
