AvtoVAZ plans to release an updated version of the Lada Niva. But it will not be a classic SUV, but a crossover. Moreover, the car will be quite large, belonging to the D-class.
Unexpectedly, for the new Lada Niva model, AvtoVAZ is going to use the existing front-wheel drive platform, which is already used in Lada Vesta cars.
This will be a crossover larger than the upcoming HGH, in length it can be classified as a D-class. The bad thing is that VAZ does not yet have the resources to create such a car.
It is currently difficult to predict when the official opening of such a project will take place.
Earlier www1.ru reported that AvtoVAZ plans to unify some parts for Niva Legend and Niva Trave SUVs. This decision will help reduce costs and simplify the production process, as the steering knuckles for both models will be standardized.
