Equipped with the "Sodema" sighting system, the "Kornet" anti-tank complex will be able to engage Western tanks at a distance of up to 10 km during the day and twilight hours. This was reported by military expert Evgeny Damantsev.
He drew attention to the fact that the B05YA01 "Berezhok" universal combat module, mounted on modernized BMP-2Ms, can engage targets from a distance of up to 3.7 km at night thanks to "Sodema". The sight allows the gunner to detect targets in the TV range.
During the day and twilight hours, the effective range of "Sodema", and therefore the range of the "Kornet" used according to its data, increases to 8000 - 10000 m. This makes it possible to effectively counter highly protected ground armored vehicles, including M1A1 AIMv2, Challenger Mk.2, or Leopard-2A5/6.
Rostec noted that "Sodema" is characterized by a high guaranteed service life and ease of use. The sight is designed for long-term operation in the troops, and its maintenance does not require the involvement of factory specialists.
The main advantage of the device is its modular design, which allows you to quickly find and fix malfunctions by replacing individual blocks.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Rostec increased the production of ammunition tenfold, and artillery shells – sixfold.
