Первый пуск перспективной ракеты «Союз-5» все ещё ожидается в 2025 году

By the middle of next year, it is necessary to ensure the readiness of Soyuz-5 for factory tests

The promising Soyuz-5 launch vehicle should make its first flight at the end of 2025, and not in 2026, as previously reported. This was stated by Dmitry Baranov, General Director of RCC Progress, in an interview with TASS. He clarified that in order to ensure the rocket's readiness for factory tests, it is necessary to complete a number of tasks by mid-2025.

Work on Soyuz-5 is in full swing: the first prototype is currently being manufactured, and the manufacture of shells for the tanks for the first and second stages has been completed. The RD-171MV first stage engine has already been delivered to RCC Progress, and the RD-0124MS second stage engine is expected by the end of the year. The rocket's blocks are also being equipped with control systems, emergency engine protection, and information and telemetry systems.

Soyuz-5 is a Russian medium-class rocket designed to launch automatic spacecraft into near-Earth orbits. In April, the Russian government approved an agreement with Kazakhstan on the start of flight tests of the Baiterek space rocket complex using this rocket in 2025.
