The Rostec State Corporation will begin serial production of the MC-21 aircraft in 2025. The production of the fully import-substituted Superjet New aircraft will begin in 2026, said Sergey Chemezov, CEO of the company, at the plenary session of the Federation Council.
Starting next year, we will begin producing the MC-21 serially, and in 2026, the Superjet New will begin to be produced serially.
Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced in January 2024 that the Cabinet had approved a program to expand the production of aircraft, instruments, and engines. The head of government noted that Russia should build more than 600 fully domestic aircraft over the next six years.
