Ministry of Digital Affairs to give over 100 billion rubles to "Bureau 1440" for satellite internet launch

By the end of 2030, the company, together with the state, will launch 383 satellites for stable internet throughout Russia

The Ministry of Digital Affairs announced the implementation of the new national project "Data Economy". The project will provide Russia with cheap and fast internet, which will be available throughout the country, including in remote settlements and on transport.

The key priority of the project is the creation of a low-orbit satellite constellation for high-speed internet access through public-private partnership. The partner is the company "Bureau 1440". It plans to launch 292 devices of its own design by the end of 2027, and 383 satellites by the end of 2030.

"Bureau 1440" will invest over 300 billion rubles in the project for the construction of devices and infrastructure, while over 100 billion rubles from the Ministry of Digital Affairs will go to compensate interest rates on preferential loans and finance launches.

Earlier, Gazprom's space division, Gazprom SPKA, announced that it will be able to produce up to one hundred small satellites per year. Gazprom SPKA also promises to release ten large satellites for the "Sphere" project by 2030.
