The Xcite X-Cross 7 crossover appeared on the market this year, but its launch was delayed several times. Now the same thing is happening with the Xcite X-Cross 8 model. Initially, sales were supposed to start on October 24, but later this date was postponed to October 28. Now the date remains open altogether, and dealers are awaiting separate instructions.
The postponement of the sales launch is due to the fact that Chery (the Xcite X-Cross 8 is a copy of the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro) made changes to the car at the final stage of development, which required re-certification of the vehicle type approval (OTTS).
The reason for these fluctuations is that the Chinese partner made some changes to the car at the final stage without informing the VAZ employees.
The situation is complicated by the fact that the "Avtozavod St. Petersburg", where the cars are assembled, is again forced to adjust the production plan for 2025. The additional costs for the X-Cross 8 turned out to be very significant.
As a reminder, the Xcite X-Cross 8 crossover will have differences in appearance from the Chinese Chery Tiggo 8 Pro, of which it is a clone. The car will receive a different front end design. The cost of the car will probably start from 2.9 million rubles for the seven-seater version.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Xcite X-Cross 8 was spotted again on public roads in Tolyatti. It should be noted that this is not the first time that a car has been photographed on the streets of Tolyatti before the official start of sales. The fact is that the vehicle, which was originally planned to be sold under the LADA brand, is being tested by AvtoVAZ specialists.
