"Temporary Solution": Russian Su-57 Could Help India Strengthen Air Force Before Its Own Fighter Appears

New Delhi is also considering fighters from other countries

The Indian Air Force is considered the fourth largest and most powerful in the world. However, in recent years, the fighter fleet has shrunk to a historic low (31). Moreover, the Indian Air Force does not have fifth-generation fighters. Russian Su-57s could become a "temporary solution" until the country develops its own Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) fighter. This is according to the Eurasian Times.

The number of Chinese J-20s is growing rapidly, and these aircraft are operated at airfields in Xinjiang and Tibet. While India is investing in AMCA, it needs a temporary solution to close the gap with China.

According to the Eurasian Times, India has strong ties with Russia in terms of military-technical cooperation. Therefore, New Delhi may choose the Su-57.

At the same time, the Indian authorities are considering other options, including the American F-35 and the French Dassault Rafale. These aircraft are operated by dozens of countries around the world.
