Russian Buk-M3 medium-range anti-aircraft missile systems will be able to shoot down F-16 fighter jets that fall within the SAM's range. The capabilities of the Buk were described in an article by the Analytical Center for Aerospace Defense Issues (AC VKO) in the journal National Defense.
It is noted that the Buk-M3 is a universal means of military air defense, which allows destroying all means of air attack and reconnaissance.
From the point of view of the effective scattering area of speed characteristics, F-16 fighters are no different from fourth-generation Soviet-made aircraft available to the Kyiv regime's troops and repeatedly shot down by military air defense crews.
Buk-M3 is a medium-range military air defense system. It is designed to combat maneuvering aerodynamic targets. Thanks to the new missile, the Buk-M3 is almost twice as good as previous models and has no analogues in the world.
The complex includes an illumination and guidance radar capable of detecting a cruise missile at an altitude of 10 meters and a distance of up to 40 km. It is capable of hitting air targets flying at speeds up to 3 km/s at a range of 2.5 to 70 km and at an altitude of 5 to 35 km.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Rostec delivered a new batch of armored BMD-4M and BMP-3 vehicles with Nakidka protection kits to the troops. Additional protection includes products to enhance armor and lattice screens.
