The new border patrol ship "Podolsk" (project 22120 "Purga") has arrived in the port of Nevelsk in the south of Sakhalin. The vessel was sent to the region to ensure security in the border zone, the press service of the Border Guard Directorate of the FSB of Russia for the Sakhalin Region reported.
According to a representative of the department, the ship completed the passage along the route St. Petersburg - Murmansk - Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky - Nevelsk in just 30 days, covering more than 7 thousand miles. At the same time, "Podolsk" traveled almost 3 thousand miles along the Northern Sea Route.
"Podolsk" became the first ship of project 22120 to receive armament in the form of a rapid-firing 30-mm six-barreled AK-306 artillery mount on the bow.
