Найдена уязвимость: большинство приложений от таксопарков опасны

Some of them contain built-in trackers from Google and other companies

Most applications used to call a taxi pose a potential threat to users. Experts from the Digital Expertise Center of Roskachestvo tested 30 mobile applications from the "Taxi" category. During the audit, the security of applications was assessed according to parameters such as requested permissions, the presence of activity trackers, and the reliability of data transmission.

Experts also analyzed the amount of data transmitted by applications and unencoded information. It turned out that 23 out of 30 services, that is, approximately 76.7%, tried to obtain more access rights than necessary.

It became known that user data first goes to software development companies, and then to application creators. For example, out of 30 applications, 11 were developed by the American company Google. Three of them contain trackers provided by Facebook*.

Earlier www1.ru reported that Russia is going to cancel the yellow color in taxis. The car can be of any color, but the requirements for the presence of a taxi light on the roof and checkers on the body will remain.
