During strikes by the 9M723-1 quasi-ballistic operational-tactical missile of the Iskander-M complex, Russian missilemen are assisted by ZALA 421-16E HD and S350M optoelectronic reconnaissance drones. These low-signature UAVs confidently identify concentrations of equipment and manpower, after which they transmit the coordinates to the military.
The long-range unmanned aircraft ZALA 421-16E was developed by ZALA AERO GROUP Unmanned Systems (part of the Kalashnikov Group of Companies of the Rostec State Corporation).
It is capable of conducting surveillance at any time of the day at speeds up to 110 km/h, transmitting video images in real time. The flight duration is 4.5 hours, all-weather capability and communication range is up to 50 km. The ability to equip the system with modern targeting payloads makes this model universal for solving any tasks on the front line.
S350M is a fully electric UAV. The flight is powered by an electric motor with a propeller in the nose of the airframe. The maximum flight speed is 120 km/h. The range is up to 240 km. The UAV is capable of climbing to a height of up to 5 km. The flight duration is 4.5 hours.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the Su-57 fighter could have accidentally shot down the S-70 Okhotnik UAV. A likely cause of the incident could be a technical error in the tactical information exchange channel.
