In September 2024, 150.9 thousand new cars were sold in Russia. This is the highest figure since May 2021, i.e., in almost 3.5 years.
The last time more new cars were sold in one month was in April 2021 — 171,500 units. Since then and until August 2024, monthly sales volumes did not exceed 150,000. In September of this year, 2% more cars were sold than in August 2024 (148,300 units), and 37% more than in August 2023 (110,400 units).
Lada is in first place in sales with a result of 35,000 cars. It is followed by Haval with 19.7 thousand cars sold, Chery — 16.2 thousand, Geely — 16.1 thousand, Changan — 11.5 thousand.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Russians bought up Lada Granta and Lada Vesta before the increase in the recycling fee. In the first three months of 2024, Lada dealers sold 334,979 cars. Also, sales of Moskvich cars jumped one and a half times, with almost 2,300 cars sold in Russia in September.
