Much-Suffered Lada Vesta Engine Mount to Be Replaced: New One to Be Developed in Yaroslavl

The part will be installed on 1.6 and 1.8 liter engines

The Yaroslavl State Technical University will create a suspension project for the Lada Vesta car engine. The part will be used in Lada Vesta cars with engines of 1.6–1.8 liters, which are intended for sale in the markets of Russia, Europe, Asia, Africa, Central and South America.

ANO "Agency for Technological Development", established by the Russian government, organized a competition, following which the winner was selected - Yaroslavl State Technical University.

The university will receive a grant for the development of design documentation for the engine suspension mount, which is necessary for JSC "AVTOVAZ". The creation of the suspension element will take place in accordance with a program aimed at replacing imported goods.

Car owners, even those that were produced before the restyling, often expressed dissatisfaction with the quality of the supports. AvtoVAZ has repeatedly made changes to both the design and the suppliers of parts. Recently, a recall campaign was carried out due to problems with the engine mount.

Earlier it became known that Lada Vesta will finally receive a 6-speed gearbox in December 2024. Initially, the new manual transmission was supposed to appear in September, but difficulties arose with some components. Also, in a year, the car should return climate control, interior lighting and the possibility of remote engine start.
